Ingredients
  1. 1 lb (500 g) ground Ontario turkey
  2. 1 cup (250 mL) finely grated old cheddar cheese
  3. 4 green onions, minced
  4. 2 tbsp (25 mL) fresh breadcrumbs
  5. 1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
  6. 1 clove garlic, minced
  7. ½ tsp (2 mL) each salt and fresh cracked pepper
  8. 4 slices cooked Ontario bacon, halved
  9. 4 slices tomato
  10. 4 Boston lettuce leaves
  11. 4 soft hamburger buns
Instructions
  1. In bowl, use a fork to gently combine turkey, Cheddar, green onion, breadcrumbs, Dijon, garlic, salt and pepper. Divide the mixture into four 1-inch (2.5cm) thick patties.
  2. Heat the grill to high and grease well. Grill patties, searing until browned on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to indirect heat, cover and grill until cooked through, about 6 minutes per side.
  3. Split the buns and place a turkey burger on the bottom half of each bun; top with bacon, tomato and lettuce.
